(What is the Great November Book Release Re-Boot? This will explain it.)

I've been drawing up lists of books to include in this project from various sources. A very few were suggested by their authors in response to my offer when I announced the project. Most have been selected from various lists of November 2016 books that I've found around the web in genres I thought my readers might like. Given my to-be-read list, only a few are books I've already picked up to read myself.

I decided that books released in the aftermath of the USA's election deserved to have a release "do-over" six months later, now that resistance has become a way of life. My goal is to feature a different book every day in May. Of course, the project also has the purpose of making me feel less self-conscious about doing a fresh promotion push for my own novel, Mother of Souls.

I felt so horrible about trying to do book promotion in the wake of the election in November that I felt like Mother of Souls didn't get a proper launch. So six months later, I'm going to spend all of May re-promoting books that were released in November, starting off with my own. I'll be including some books that people specifically requested me to cover, and for the rest it will simply be books that I think look interesting.

So here's the thing: I can't be the only author who had a book released in November (or December, or January...) who felt too gobsmacked by political events to feel comfortable going all out on book promotion. (Heck, it took me most of November to get out of panic attack mode.) So I'm giving myself permission to do a 6-month anniversary book release re-boot. And to feel a bit less self-conscious about it, I'm going to make a general offer.

Thank you all for entering! The lucky winner is Zara. Please contact me through the website contact form for infomation on how to claim your book.

When you read Stephanie Burgis's guest-post below, I think my regular readers will understand immediately why I'm delighted to have her as a guest, and why I think anyone who enjoys my writing will probably love hers as well. I haven't read her newest book Congress of Secrets yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed her previous work Masks and Shadows (see review) and gave it one of my highest accolades: passing the "treadmill test" with flying colors!

The day has arrived!

Let me put that in a bigger font:

One of the features of the New! Improved! LHMP blog on the Alpennia website is the addition of extensive content tags so that visitors can search for specific types of content. But I and my website designers have been brainstorming over how best to make those tags available. The Cadillac version would be a set of additive filters so you could, for example, ask, "What does the LHMP have on 13th century Spain?" However this Cadillac version would take a fair bit of work and I wanted to roll out something in the near term.

Since I covered a review topic yesterday (and don't have any new reviews to post), how about I swap days and do my not-at-all-random-Thursday promo for Mother of Souls today? Just as a reminder, you can pre-order the paperback or e-book from Bella Books, or order the paperback through Amazon.
