Ha! The very fact that you have to say "I am not going to become a publisher" means that it's inevitable. I kept thinking wistfully about becoming a publisher and realizing that I simply don't have the organizational skills for the usual route. But publishing through the podcast find a nice balance between what I want to do and what I can do.
I agree about the "review everything from this venue" approach for SFFReviews. Back when I was reviewing Podcastle stories on my blog, it was rather haphazard and I know that I was far less motivated to blog the stories that didn't hit the spot. It's still pretty clear what my tastes are, from my reviews, but I'm pretty open about them and people can calibrate. (Of course, if I ever sell another story to Podcastle, the idea of "review the sources you like" is going to run into a ditch.)
